There have been several instances like the 9/11 WTC attack or the 26/11 Mumbai blasts, etc. when SMSs proved to be an important mode of communication.
However, in Countries like India, no one can send more than 3,000 text messages per month, or an average of 100 texts per day. This was ordered by India’s Telecom regulatory Authority of India to curb spam messages.
To overcome this situation, genuine companies have shifted to other medium like Whatsapp, BlackBerry Messenger, Facebook, Twitter and emails to remain in touch with their customers.
